Fall Family Session at Cascade Ponds in Banff

This sweet family travelled all the way from Texas to experience the magic of Banff! Even though the temperatures were a world away from what they’re used to back home, they embraced every moment of this mountain adventure: especially their daughter, who was so excited at the possibility of seeing snow.

We met at Cascade Ponds just on the way in to Banff, surrounded by quiet water, evergreens, and a beautiful mountain backdrop. Despite the chilly day, these four brought nothing but warmth. And their kids… my heart. When I asked them for a sibling photo together, they immediately wrapped each other up in a big, genuine hug. No prompting, no direction. Just brother–sister love in its purest form. Moments like that remind me why I adore what I do. You can’t pose love like that. You can only catch it when it happens.

Sessions like this one are the heart of family photography for me. A couple of hours together in the fresh mountain air, making memories far from home, capturing the connection that travels with you wherever you go.
