This sweet family travelled all the way from Texas to experience the magic of Banff, and we were lucky enough to cross paths during their trip. Even though the temperatures were a world away from what they’re used to back home, they embraced every moment of this mountain adventure: especially their daughter, who was so excited at the possibility of seeing snow!

Photography can feel expensive until you remember what you are truly investing in. Photos hold the people you love, the seasons of your life, and the memories that change far too quickly. There is a reason people often say that photographs are only expensive until the person you wanted to have pictures of is gone. Once the moment is gone, the images become priceless.

I first met this sweet mama at a playground in our neighbourhood while our kids were running around and making instant friends. We started chatting, and within minutes it felt like we had known each other longer than just a quick playground introduction. She is warm, genuine, and such an inspiring young business owner. I love meeting other women building something of their own while also juggling motherhood.

Some photo sessions feel like a little adventure, and this one definitely did.

What was originally planned as a cozy fall shoot in Banff turned into a last-minute pivot because of the unpredictable mountain weather. A storm was rolling in fast, so we made the call to move the session to Calgary for safer and hopefully calmer conditions. Spoiler: the weather still had big plans for us.

Some families just leave me smiling long after the session is over, and this crew was exactly that. They are a full-on hockey family, and somehow, despite their insanely busy schedule, they still managed to squeeze in a fall photo session with me. I felt lucky to catch them between practices and games.

The boys were listening to a sports game during the shoot, and it made me laugh in the best way. It was the most “sports family” thing I have ever seen!

This fall I had the sweetest session with a wonderful family at Fish Creek Park. They arrived with two energetic little ones, their lovable dog, and that familiar look parents get when the day has been a whirlwind. They had run late and were feeling stressed, but the moment we stepped onto the paths surrounded by tall grass and soft evening light, everything began to unwind. As a parent of two myself I always feel for families in this stage of life, but they absolutely smashed it!

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing long-time family friends at Confederation Park in Calgary during the early days of autumn. The leaves were just starting to turn, painting the park in shades of gold and amber, and the crisp air added a fresh energy to the session.

I had the privilege of photographing the most beautiful solo session at Bighorn Lookout in Kananaskis. The mountains were glowing, the wind was soft then fierce, and the entire valley felt peaceful in that magical way only Kananaskis can feel. This stunning model knew exactly what she wanted and she led the photoshoot with such ease! She was so comfortable, friendly, and so prepared for photos! She was such a pleasure to photograph.

A little while ago, I photographed this lovely family’s maternity session at Reader Rock Garden. It was a peaceful evening filled with anticipation as they prepared to welcome their second baby. Seeing them again at Carburn Park, now as a family of four, felt like the most beautiful continuation of their story.

Golden hour was truly showing off for us. The warm light settled softly over the pathways, the river glowed in the background, and the tall grasses caught every bit of that evening shimmer. It was one of those sessions where everything aligned. The location, the light, and the gentle sweetness that comes with a family welcoming a new little one all came together so naturally.

Over the summer I had the best little session with my family at one of our favourite spots at Bighorn Lookout in Kananaskis. The kids were full of energy, running back and forth along the path and laughing the whole time. At one point they were holding hands, skipping together like the happiest little adventurers.

Late summer mornings in Calgary are pure magic. Warm, golden light, soft breezes, and quiet trails that invite you to linger outdoors. There’s no better place to enjoy it than Fish Creek Park, where winding paths, hidden nooks, and open spaces make every visit feel like a little adventure. And it’s extra fun when you’re adventuring with your sibling!

This past summer I had the joy of photographing the sweetest family who recently moved to Calgary from Ukraine. We met downtown and instantly connected. They carried such a gentle warmth and kindness, and it was easy to see how much love they share as a family.
